Browsing the site
- You can use the whole database without an account. We don't use advertising or analytics trackers, and the site sets no cookies of its own.
- Your browser keeps a few things on your own device (local storage): your light or dark theme, a cached copy of the community ratings so pages load faster, and, if you sign in, your sign-in session. You can clear them in your browser's settings at any time.
- Like every website, our web host keeps standard server logs (IP address, pages requested, browser type and time) to keep the site running and secure.
- Some parts of a page come from other services, which receive your IP address when your browser loads them: fonts from Google Fonts, video thumbnails from YouTube, the sign-in and comments code from jsDelivr, Instagram posts on plugin pages from Instagram, which may also set its own cookies, and, when you sign in, Cloudflare's Turnstile check that you're not a bot. Links to stores, YouTube, Reddit and Instagram take you to sites with their own privacy policies.
- Some "Buy at" links to stores are affiliate links: they carry our partner ID, and if you buy something the store may pay us a small commission, at no extra cost to you. The store, not vst3s, records that you came from us (it may use its own cookies for this). Affiliate links never change our ratings or the order of the stores, which are always listed cheapest first.
If you create an account
To rate plugins or comment, you sign in with your email address and a one-time code. We then store:
- Your email address, to send you sign-in codes and to know which account is yours. We don't send newsletters or marketing, and we never show, sell or share your email address.
- The display name you choose, your ratings and your comments, with their dates. These are public: anyone visiting the site can see them next to your display name.
- Comments you report, so we can review them. Reports are never shown publicly.
We use this information only to run the community features: to show ratings and comments, to work out each plugin's score, and to keep the comments free of spam and abuse. Comments that contain links wait for our approval, and we may hide or remove comments that break these rules.
Who handles your data for us
- Supabase stores the accounts, ratings and comments.
- An email delivery service sends the sign-in codes.
- Cloudflare runs the bot check on the sign-in form.
- Our web host serves the site and keeps the server logs.
They handle the data only on our behalf. Their servers may be in another country than yours (for example the United States).
How long we keep it
We keep your account data until you delete your account. When signed in, open the Community section of any plugin page and press Delete account: your email address, display name, ratings, comments and reports are removed straight away. Server logs and our providers' backups are deleted on their normal schedules.
Your rights
You can change your display name or delete your account yourself at any time. You can also email info@vst3s.com to ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, to have it deleted, or to object to how we use it. Depending on where you live (for example under the EU and UK GDPR, or Mexico's data protection law, the "ARCO" rights), you may have further rights, including complaining to your data protection authority. We answer requests within 20 working days.
Age
Accounts are for people aged 16 and over.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
