What it does
PITCHSHIFT is a multi-algorithm pitch shifter for music production, sound design and post-production.
- Algorithms: the standard edition has three (classic delay-line, resynthesis and time-stretching based); the PRO edition has six.
- Uses: mono and stereo shifting, harmonies such as fifths and octaves, loop pitch adjustment, vocal and mechanical effects, and frame-rate conversion for film mixing.
- PRO edition: adds 16-channel phase-synchronous processing for immersive formats.
When to use it
PITCHSHIFT is a utility for changing pitch across whole sources, from vocals to full mixes, rather than a tuning tool like Auto-Tune. Compared with Little AlterBoy, a cheaper, more colourful option for vocal character, PITCHSHIFT suits post-production and sound design where you need several algorithms to choose from.
