What it does
Addictive Trigger is XLN Audio's drum replacement plug-in. It detects hits in recorded drum tracks and replaces or layers them with samples.
- Audio Fingerprint detection: FFT-based analysis that picks out hits, including ghost notes, while rejecting mic bleed and background noise.
- SuperStart: analyses the source and sets detection settings automatically.
- Sound library: presets recorded at studios such as Fairfax Recording and United Recording; works with Addictive Drums 2 presets and expansions.
- MIDI: drag-and-drop MIDI export, and it can trigger other drum instruments.

When to use it
Use it to reinforce or swap weak kick, snare and tom recordings, especially on live-recorded drums with bleed. Its sounds and presets tie in with Addictive Drums 2.
- Best for: rock, metal, pop and demo drums that need more punch after the fact.
- Tip: start with SuperStart, then check ghost notes and bleed on the snare track.
