What it does
OTT is a free three-band upward and downward compressor from Xfer Records. It recreates the aggressive multiband compression setting used by many dubstep and electro producers, originally an Ableton Live preset.
- Controls: Depth (amount of compression), Time (scales attack and release), and input and output gain.
- Bands: low, mid and high, with a display of input level and gain reduction.

When to use it
OTT is the standard quick way to add brightness, density and punch. It is not a transparent mastering compressor; use it in moderation, or blend it in parallel.
- Best for: EDM, dubstep, electro, and lifting dull synths and drum buses.
What producers say
Reviewers describe it as making sounds brighter and more forward, though some call it specialised and raise concerns about phase cancellation at the crossover points.
