What it does

Medusa is a free modulation plugin from Witch Pig that "offers a range of Chorus and Flanger based effects" in one small package. Its presets run from a mild flutter to heavily modulated, strange textures.

Chorus: chorus-style effects for thickening and gentle movement.
Flanger: flanger-style effects in the same plugin, for jet-like sweeps and stronger modulation.
Preset range: from subtle flutter to what the developer calls "full on modulated weirdness".
Built with JUCE: written in C++ with the JUCE framework, as a small, lightweight plugin.
Part of a free range: one of several free Witch Pig effects alongside its delays, reverbs and the Geminate doubler.

Version 1.1.0 is free. Neither the developer's page nor KVR gives a detailed control list.

When to use it

Medusa is a simple free pick when you want both chorus and flanging, and more extreme modulation, from one plugin. Compared with TAL-Chorus-LX, which recreates the Juno-60 chorus closely, it is not tied to a vintage unit and covers flanger sounds too. Against paid options like TriceraChorus or Syntorus 2 it has far less depth and documentation, and the developer gives no detailed control list. It suits quick experiments rather than precise, period-correct chorus.

Best for: quick chorus and flanger sounds on guitars, synths and pads, and odd modulated textures from the presets.
Genres: any; especially indie, lo-fi and experimental music.
Look elsewhere if: you want a specific vintage chorus (TAL-Chorus-LX or Chorus JUN-6) or deep modulation control (TriceraChorus or Syntorus 2).
