Expander designed to reduce microphone bleed and background noise on live vocal mics.

Best for: Vocals. Genres: all genres.

Keywords: downward expansion, vocals, mixing, live performance, single-band.

What it does

PSE reduces a microphone's level between phrases to cut stage bleed and lower feedback risk while the mic is idle.

For live vocal or speech mics on a busy stage, or in recording setups with bleed. In the studio, a standard gate or expander is more common.
