MV2

Dynamics processor with separate low-level (upward) and high-level (downward) compression controls.
Best for: Vocals, Bass, Acoustic Instruments. Genres: all genres.
Keywords: vocals, bass, simple, minimal controls, mixing, single-band.
What it does
MV2 is a dynamics processor with two faders: one for low-level (upward) compression and one for high-level (downward) compression. Waves says it keeps dynamics in check and raises volume quickly.
- Two-in-one: separate low-level and high-level compression in a single plugin.
- Simple interface: dual faders rather than a full set of compressor controls.
When to use it
A quick way to even out a signal while also lifting quiet detail, useful on vocals, bass and acoustic instruments. It is much simpler than FabFilter Pro-C 3 and has none of the character modelling of CLA-76 or CLA-2A; the appeal is speed, not tweakability.
Genre-neutral. Best for vocals and other sources where you want more level consistency without much fuss.
