What it does

InPhase is Waves' dedicated phase tool, "the ultimate phase correction plugin for phase shift treatment, phase alignment, and all phase manipulation tasks." It is the full version of the InPhase LT listed separately.

Alignment: fix left/right phase on a stereo track, or use the sidechain to align one track to another (for example overheads to snare, or DI bass to a miked amp).
Visual editing: dual waveform displays update in real time as you move waveforms along a timeline, with a delay-only control for timing differences.
Phase filters: two variable allpass filters per channel, with shelf or bell responses, correct phase only at specific frequencies; a Phase Shift Curve display shows the result.
Metering and monitoring: a correlation meter plus monitoring of the stereo mix, mono mix or individual channels.
Versions: mono and stereo components, plus a dedicated version for live mixing.

When to use it

Choose the full InPhase when you want to see both waveforms, align to a sidechain reference and correct phase only in chosen frequency ranges. That sets it apart from InPhase LT, the simpler Waves option, Little Labs IBP Phase Alignment Tool (UA), which gives the classic analog-style phase knob, and Eventide Precision Time Align and Apollo View Align, which focus on sample-accurate time alignment.

Best for: multi-miked drums, DI plus amp on bass and guitar, two-mic guitar cabinets, and parallel chains with phase-shifting analog-modeled EQs.
Genres: all; it's a mixing utility.
Look elsewhere if: you only need a quick polarity or delay tweak; InPhase LT or IBP are faster.
Standout: frequency-selective allpass correction on top of time alignment.
