What it does

GTR3 Amps is the amp, cabinet and mic part of Waves' GTR3 guitar suite, for both guitar and bass.

Amps: modelled on classic and contemporary amplifiers in the style of Fender, Marshall, Mesa/Boogie, Vox and others; the wider GTR3 suite lists 25 guitar amps and 7 bass amps.
Cabs and mics: cabinets and microphones are included (29 cabs across the GTR3 suite).
Range: covers clean and distorted tones.

When to use it

A lower-cost, no-fuss way to get amp sounds inside a DAW if you already use Waves. It does not include GTR3 Stomps, ToolRack and Tuner, which are sold as separate parts of the same suite. If you want larger libraries or a more modern interface, compare Neural DSP, IK Multimedia AmpliTube and NI Guitar Rig.

Best for: guitar and bass tracking or re-amping when you want a quick, familiar amp and cab combination.
Genres: rock, blues, pop and clean funk through to hard rock; heavy modern metal is better served by dedicated high-gain sims.

Where to buy
