What it does
CLA Unplugged is a multi-effects plugin for acoustic instruments, made with Chris Lord-Alge for the acoustic guitar sound of Green Day, Nickelback and Bon Jovi.
- Simple controls: EQ, compression and effects faders in one panel.
When to use it
A quick finish for acoustic guitar and other acoustic parts. Compared with CLA Guitars, it is tuned for acoustic rather than amped sounds. Suits pop, rock ballads and singer-songwriter.
What producers say
The 2010-11 reviews of the original bundle were favourable. These are reviews of the original release from 2010-11, so treat them as a guide to the concept rather than the current version.
- Sound On Sound said it beat the reviewer's own hand-built chain, though it was very CPU-intensive.
- Computer Music noted its dual pre-delay reverbs for roughing up clean DI signals.
- Sound On Sound review of the original CLA Artist Signature Collection (Sam Inglis, 2011)
