What it does
Models the EMI TG12410 Transfer Console used in Abbey Road's mastering suites since the early 1970s, as a modular chain.
- Modules: input, tone, limiter, filter and output, plus a TG meter bridge.
- Tone: four-band fixed-frequency EQ with several filter modes, up to 10 dB.
- Limiter: Zener diode compressor with Original, Limit and Modern algorithms and sidechain filters.
- Spreader: stereo spread on the output.
- Versions: mono and stereo, plus Live variants.
When to use it
An all-in-one mastering chain with an analog feel: EQ, filters, dynamics and stereo width in one plugin. It is a colour-and-tone tool compared with the clean, transparent limiters in the rated list.
- Best for: mastering and mix bus work on live-instrument music.
- Genres: rock, pop, jazz, acoustic and other instrumental styles; less suited to electronic music.
What producers say
MusicRadar (2019) called it a luxurious, analog-authentic mastering rack.
- The reviewer praised the Tone and Limiter modules, and noted minor GUI inconsistencies and less suitability for electronic music.
