What it does
A channel strip based on a channel of the EMI TG12345 solid-state console, a desk used at Abbey Road.
- Compressor: 2:1 and 7:1 ratio options, a hold control and a parallel mix.
- EQ: includes a presence band (500 Hz to 10 kHz) that the REDD consoles don't have.
- Spread: a stereo spread control that goes beyond a normal pan.
When to use it
Waves' own comparison suggests the TG12345 is the more flexible of its two console models, and calls it a one-stop processor for vocals. For tube colour and heavier drive, choose the REDD Consoles plugin instead.
- Best for: vocals, drums, and bass or guitar that needs compression and EQ in one place.
- Genres: rock, pop and anything from the 1970s onward that wants punch.
