What it does
Magic7 is a free reverb from Wave Alchemy that recreates the sound of the Bricasti M7 hardware, with 234 of the unit's presets in true stereo. It keeps the controls few, aimed at getting a natural, high-end space quickly.
- Reverb types: 11 banks: Ambience, Chambers, Halls 1 and 2, Nonlin, Plates 1 and 2, Rooms 1 and 2, and Spaces 1 and 2.
- Presets: 234 presets from the original M7, covering rooms, halls, plates, chambers and special spaces.
- Shaping: tempo-synced pre-delay, low and air EQ bands, and a Smooth control that softens transients going into the reverb.
- Ducking: built-in reverb ducking, so the tail drops while the dry signal plays and blooms in the gaps.
- Modulation: two modes, Flux and Ensemble, for stereo spread and pitch movement in the tail.
- Workflow: input, output and mix controls with mix lock, a browser with search, tags, favorites and random shuffle, undo/redo and a resizable UI.
It is free.

When to use it
Magic7 is the easy, free way to get M7-style rooms, halls and plates without paying for hardware or a full recreation. Compared with Seventh Heaven Professional it has far fewer controls and no in-depth editing of the reverb itself, but it is free and quick to use. Unlike Pro-R 2 it gives no visual decay or EQ display; you pick a preset and shape it lightly. Next to VintageVerb or Supermassive it is aimed at natural, realistic spaces rather than coloured vintage tones or huge ambient washes.
- Best for: natural rooms, halls, plates and chambers on vocals, drums, acoustic instruments and orchestral parts.
- Genres: any style, especially pop, rock, acoustic and film work.
- Look elsewhere if: you want detailed editing of the M7 algorithms (Seventh Heaven Professional), creative or modulated effects (Supermassive), or a visual reverb with detailed EQ (Pro-R 2).
What producers say
Users find it a strong free reverb, with the main reservation being limited editing.
- KVR users rate it 4.5 out of 5 from 2 reviews; one called it "much better than many paid reverbs" and praised its low CPU use and the Smooth and Duck controls.
- Criticisms: one KVR user found it seems to be IR-based, partly nulling against Samplicity's free M7 impulses, and missed the ability to stretch or shorten the reverb length.
