Lofi Spring is a spring reverb plugin with 14 modeled spring tanks taken from classic and rare sources.
Input saturation, gating, ducking, modulation and a mid/side output EQ let you shape the tanks well beyond a basic spring, for £59 (about $78.16).
Best for: Guitars, Drums, Vocals, Keys & Synths. Genres: Lo-Fi, Rock & Indie, Hip-Hop & Trap, Electronic & EDM.
Keywords: spring, lo-fi, electric guitar, vocals, drums, ducking, gritty, mid/side, tape, vintage, synths, wobble, ambience, dub, keys, wide, analog-sounding, classic, clean, creative, inspired by, mixing, preset-driven, tape echo, tempo-synced.
What it does
Lofi Spring is Wave Alchemy's spring reverb, built around 14 modeled vintage spring tanks drawn from sources like guitar amps, tape echoes, lo-fi gear and studio units. The goal is a reverb that "feels alive: imperfect, analog, and endlessly inspiring."
- Spring models: 14 tanks, each switchable between stereo and mono.
- Input and tone: analog-modeled input saturation for gritty colour, plus a tone control inspired by analog tape degradation and a high-pass filter.
- Tail shaping: reverb damping, and Character modes that run from clean to gritty.
- Movement: Flux and Ensemble modulation modes for wobble and wider, more ambient tails.
- Dynamics: gating, ducking and transient smoothing to keep the tail out of the way of the dry signal.
- Output: dual-band stereo width and a 4-band output EQ with mid/side processing.
- Workflow: tempo-synced pre-delay, Mix Lock, and 100 presets with search, tags and favourites.
A free 14-day demo is available.

When to use it
Lofi Spring is the better pick when you want many spring flavours and lo-fi colour in one plugin rather than one faithful hardware unit. Compared with Arturia Rev SPRING-636 or UAD's AKG BX 20, which each focus on a single spring device, it trades depth of one model for 14 different tanks plus saturation and tape-style tone. Unlike VintageVerb, it has no halls, plates or rooms, but its gating, ducking and mid/side EQ make spring tails easier to fit into a busy mix. Next to Pro-R 2 it is a character tool, not a clean, precise space.
- Best for: dub and surf guitars, drum sends, lo-fi keys and vocals, and synths that need grit and wobble.
- Genres: lo-fi, dub, indie, hip-hop and electronic.
- Look elsewhere if: you need a clean, natural room or hall; VintageVerb, Room or Pro-R 2 fit better.
- Tip: use the ducking on vocals and dense mixes so the springs bloom only in the gaps, and sync the pre-delay to tempo.
What producers say
Early coverage is positive, with reviewers praising its character and range of tanks.
- Greg Kocis review called it "a steal", praising the 14 tanks, the range of shaping tools and the modest CPU use on drums, vocals, synths and guitars; it listed no real criticisms.
- Tips from the review: try the Gritty character on drums for a lo-fi feel, and the Ensemble mode for wide ambient textures.
