Venom is a spectral effect from W.A. Production that freezes and reshapes sound in the frequency domain.
Seven effect modules (Focus, Feaze, Decay, Damping, Mirror, Pitch and Slope) can be reordered in a hot-swappable chain; it costs $59.
Best for: Sound Design, Keys & Synths, Vocals, Guitars. Genres: Ambient & Cinematic, Electronic & EDM.

What it does
Venom is a spectral freeze and processing effect from W.A. Production for drones, textures and special effects. It works in two stages: a freeze stage captures and builds up a snapshot of the incoming sound, then a chain of spectral effects keeps reworking that snapshot with feedback.
- Freeze stage: captures and accumulates a snapshot of the input; the effects then process it continuously, creating feedback.
- Ambience effects: Focus, Feaze, Decay and Damping, aimed at shaping unusual, smooth ambiences from the frozen sound.
- Transformation effects: Mirror, Pitch and Slope, for more experimental changes to the spectrum.
- Modular chain: drag any of the seven effects to a new position to change the processing order on the fly.
- Spectral resolution: user controls over several aspects of the spectral resolution.
- Display and basics: a real-time frequency display, input, output and mix controls, click-free bypass on the Venom logo, and multicore support.
- Presets: factory presets with settings for many types of special effects.
The current version is 1.0.0.b2 (October 2021), and a demo is available.

When to use it
Venom is the narrower, more focused choice for turning any sound into a frozen pad or drone and then reshaping its spectrum. Compared with Infiltrator 2 or Effectrix2, it has no sequenced or rhythmic effects; everything is built around sustained, evolving textures. Unlike Graindad, it works on a spectral snapshot rather than on grains, so it suits smooth drones more than stuttering, granular clouds. It is also much simpler than Kilohearts Multipass, which splits the signal into bands and can host many effects, while Venom does one job with a fixed set of seven modules.
- Best for: frozen pads, drones, risers, transitions and experimental textures from vocals, instruments or field recordings.
- Genres: ambient, cinematic, sound design and experimental electronic music.
- Look elsewhere if: you want rhythmic, sequenced effects (Effectrix2 or Infiltrator 2), grain-based textures (Graindad), or a conventional big reverb (Valhalla Supermassive).
