What it does
SphereDelay 2 is the second version of W.A. Production's multimode delay, with a new interface, an upgraded audio engine and more ways to modulate the delay time. Its presets run from tape-style echoes to experimental effects.
- Four modes: Mono, Stereo, Ping-Pong and Ping-Pong Separate.
- Space: new Space Length and Space Amount controls set how long and how strong the ambience around the repeats is.
- Time modulation: delay time can be modulated by an LFO or an envelope follower, and the new Envelope Time Modulation makes the delay react to how hard you play.
- Reverse: reverses the input while keeping the feedback path intact.
- Stereo filter: a filter with saturation that can also be moved by its own LFO and envelope follower.
- Presets and interface: over 50 factory presets and a resizable interface.
The current version is 2.0.0. Version 1 owners get an upgrade price. A demo is available.

When to use it
SphereDelay 2 is the better pick for modulated, reversed and filtered creative delays you can dial in from presets. Compared with Soundtoys EchoBoy it has no detailed hardware echo models or groove controls, but its envelope-driven delay time and reverse mode go in a more experimental direction. Against FabFilter Timeless 3 it has a fixed set of modulation sources rather than free routing, which makes it simpler but less deep. It costs less than both, and its four modes cover the same everyday ground as Waves H-Delay with more movement on top.
- Best for: creative ping-pong, reverse and modulated delays on vocals, synths and leads.
- Genres: EDM, pop and ambient.
- Look elsewhere if: you want deep modulation routing (Timeless 3) or faithful tape and analog echo (EchoBoy or Galaxy Tape Echo).

- Plugin Boutique users rate it 4.5 out of 5 from 35 ratings; one said the modulation parameters "particularly stand out" and another that it "significantly improved my workflow".
- KVR users: no user reviews of version 2 so far.
