What it does

Babylon 2 is W.A. Production's wavetable synthesizer, built around what the developer calls "single-page simplicity": every section sits on one screen. Version 2.2 added the W-Lab wavetable editor, more filter types and reworked effects.

It ships with 858 factory presets, expanded to more than 1,500 in version 2.1, and Babylon 1 presets can be imported. The current version is 2.2.1 (November 2025). It is offered at a reduced upgrade price from Babylon 1, and a demo is available.

When to use it

Babylon 2 is the simpler, cheaper wavetable synth for producers who mostly start from presets and tweak them. Compared with Xfer Serum 2 and Vital it has a smaller modulation system and far less third-party sound support, but every control sits on one page and a large preset library is included. Compared with Arturia Pigments 7 it has a single wavetable engine and a lighter feature set, which makes it quicker to learn. Its microtonal scales and arpeggiator pattern generator are useful extras at this price. Some users find its sound narrow next to free options such as Surge XT.

What producers say

Opinions are split: one online review was very positive, while KVR users were lukewarm about its sonic range and preset value.
