What it does

Studio Jazz Drums is Vienna Symphonic Library's sampled jazz kit for the Vienna Synchron Player, aiming to bring "the timeless sound of an exquisite jazz kit" with detailed playing options. It was recorded in VSL's acoustically controlled Silent Stage and released in 2025 as the Synchron-based successor to VI Jazz Drums.

The library has 11,763 samples. It runs in the Synchron Player. At launch VI Jazz Drums owners could upgrade at a reduced price. The page mentions no demo.

When to use it

Studio Jazz Drums is the better pick when you need one convincing jazz kit with real brush playing at a low price. Compared with Superior Drummer 3, EZdrummer 3 and Addictive Drums 2, it has a single kit and a small set of MIDI loops instead of many kits and a large groove browser, but it covers brushes and mallets in detail and costs much less. Unlike those, it runs in VSL's Synchron Player, so it fits neatly into a VSL orchestral template. It is not built for rock, metal or modern pop drum sounds.

What producers say

There are no full reviews yet; early user reactions at launch were positive about the sound and the brushes.
