What it does

BBO Choirs is the choir pack of Big Bang Orchestra 2.0, pairing an adult and a children's choir recorded on Stage A of the Synchron Stage Vienna. VSL's pitch is "a full choir resounding through the vast space of Stage A": big, roomy choral weight for cinematic cues.

Two choirs: the adult Vienna Synchron Choir and the Gumpoldskirchner Spatzen children's choir.
Sections: soprano, alto, tenor and bass as separate patches, plus stacked tutti patches.
Tutti FX: chords, clusters, cluster glissandos, shouts and similar effects.
Mic positions: Decca tree (stereo and centre), main surround, high stereo and surround, mid stereo, and close mics for each of the four sections.
Presets: Room Mix, Stereo Decca Tree, Surround to Stereo, Surround and Processed presets.

The pack holds 34,741 samples. BBO 2.0 regrouped the original Big Bang Orchestra libraries into seven packs by instrument family (Tutti, Strings, Woodwinds, Brass, Percussion, Riffs and Choirs), also sold together as the Big Bang Orchestra Bundle; owners of the older BBO packs get upgrade pricing. It runs in the Vienna Synchron Player (with VSL's Flow View). It has a 30-day free trial.

When to use it

BBO Choirs is a cheap way to get a big-hall choir, adult and children's, for epic moments. Compared with Eric Whitacre Choir, it is less about detailed, expressive choral writing and more about size, clusters and effects, and it includes a children's choir. Unlike Augmented VOICES, it stays acoustic, with no synthesis layer for hybrid textures. It also matches the room sound of the other BBO packs, which makes it easy to drop under BBO brass and percussion.

Best for: epic choir hits, clusters, shouts and big sustained choir pads, plus children's choir colour.
Genres: cinematic, trailer music, game scores and dark or horror cues.
Look elsewhere if: you need lyrics or detailed, intimate choral parts (Eric Whitacre Choir), or hybrid vocal textures (Augmented VOICES).

What producers say

There are no reviews focused on BBO Choirs yet; reviewers of the BBO 2.0 bundle as a whole were positive.

Sound On Sound (Dave Stewart, July 2026) gave BBO 2.0 five stars, crediting the regrouping into seven family-based packs, access to all mic positions and the simpler Flow interface.
Sample Library Review (November 2025) called the bundle "Instantly Epic!" and praised its "high-octane, easy to use and flexible scoring", but gave no pack-by-pack detail.
