A free mid/side encoder and decoder with gain and pan controls for the mid and side channels, a phase flipper and a stereo channel swapper.
It is used to adjust stereo width, check mono compatibility, or wrap other plugins so they process mid and side separately. It includes a vector scope and correlation and balance meters, with zero latency.

What it does
MSED is Voxengo's free mid/side encoder/decoder.
- Modes: encode stereo to mid/side, decode back, or adjust mid and side inline.
- Controls: mid and side gain and panning, a 180-degree phase flipper and a left/right swapper.
- Meters: "Plasma" vector scope, correlation and balance meters.
- Quality: zero latency, 64-bit floating-point processing.

When to use it
Use it to widen or narrow a mix, mute the side channel to check mono, or put it before and after another plugin to process mid and side separately. bx_control V2 adds more monitoring controls; Protility adds bass mono and phase tools.
