What it does

QuickVox is an Instant Audio vocal multi-effect, sold by United Plugins, built for both studio mixing and live performance. Its idea is three complete vocal chains in one plugin that you can switch between instantly, at zero latency and low CPU.

Three rack units: racks 1, 2 and 3 each hold five effect modules with three controls per module, so you can build a different chain for each song section.
Live Mode: turns the interface into three oversized buttons for switching mid-performance; Keep Tails lets delays and reverbs decay naturally across a switch.
MIDI control: the low notes C-2, C#-2 and D-2 select racks 1, 2 and 3, so a controller or footswitch can change chains hands-free.
Mix section: gate, leveller, de-esser, EQ and compressor.
SFX and distortion: 11 special effects such as vocoders, autotune, comb filters and ring modulators, plus 8 distortion types including tube, tape saturation, fold and amp simulations.
Modulation, delay and reverb: chorus, tremolo, flanger and phaser; digital, tape, stereo ping-pong and wide delays; and 12 reverb types from room and chamber to hall and cathedral.
Presets: a library sorted by use, including rapping, singing, aggressive, intros, experimental and creative.

Version 1.0 has 64-bit processing at any sample rate up to 192 kHz, smart bypass and sleep on silence. A lighter QuickVox Core edition also exists. Updates are free for life, and a free 15-day trial is unlimited.

When to use it

QuickVox is the pick when one plugin has to carry a whole vocal sound on stage as well as in the studio. Compared with Nectar 4 it has no assistive mixing or pitch-correction workflow, but it is cheaper, runs at zero latency and has a Live Mode with MIDI rack switching that Nectar lacks. Next to a dedicated de-esser like Pro-DS, its built-in de-esser is one module among many, with far fewer controls. Its effects range, from vocoders to amp distortion and 12 reverbs, makes it more of a creative multi-effect than most vocal channel strips.

Best for: singers and rappers who want three ready vocal chains to switch between live, and quick demo or streaming vocals.
Genres: any vocal-led music; pop, rock, hip-hop, worship and electronic.
Look elsewhere if: you want detailed, surgical control of each stage; separate EQ, compressor and de-esser plugins such as Pro-DS, or Nectar 4, give more depth.
Tip: besides inserting it on the vocal, it can run on a send as a parallel reverb and delay bus.

What producers say

Coverage so far is light: one blog write-up is positive, and KVR has no user reviews yet.

Greg Kocis blog praised the low CPU use, zero latency, Live Mode and MIDI or footswitch chain switching, calling it "studio-quality sound with stage-ready simplicity"; it listed no drawbacks.
Usage tips (same blog): start from a preset and adjust EQ and effects, use the randomize feature to find new textures, and switch on Live Mode for performances.
