What it does

QuickMuse is an Instant Audio multi-effect, sold by United Plugins, built around randomization. Each press of the central Random button gives every effect a new setting, as a cure for creative block rather than a precise editor.

Fire: saturation, from subtle analog-style warmth to heavy harmonic character.
Air: rhythmic multi-delays, vintage tape delays and room, hall and cathedral reverbs.
Water: tremolo, flanger, phaser, auto-pan, filter modulation and vibrato.
Earth: vintage chorus, stereo widening, multiband dynamics and analog-style shelf EQs.
Aether: multi-pitch shimmer reverb, reverse delay and granular clouds.
Smart randomizer: picks settings that work together; editing is limited on purpose to a dry/wet mix per element and the element order.
Presets: dozens, sorted into bass, guitar, drums, vocals, synths and single elements, and you can save your own.

It is often discounted at United Plugins. It runs at 64-bit internal resolution at any sample rate up to 192 kHz, with smart bypass and sleep on silence. A free 15-day trial has no saving limits or noise, and updates are free for life.

When to use it

QuickMuse is better for finding ideas fast than for designing a specific sound. Compared with Infiltrator 2 and Multipass, where you build and tweak the chain yourself, it rolls the dice across five effect groups and leaves you only mix and order controls. Unlike Effectrix2, it does not sequence effects in time; each roll is a static set of effects. It is cheaper than those three and quicker to get a usable result from.

Best for: quick inspiration and unexpected textures on bass, guitar, drums, vocals and synths.
Genres: any; mostly useful in electronic, ambient and experimental production.
Look elsewhere if: you want to design an effect chain step by step or tweak each parameter; Multipass or Infiltrator 2 give full control.
