What it does

MorphVerb is a Muramasa reverb, sold by United Plugins, built around one big dial that morphs between reverb types instead of switching between them. As you turn it, the algorithm blends smoothly into its neighbour, so in-between spaces are part of the design.

When to use it

MorphVerb is the better pick when you want to find a fitting space fast by turning one dial, rather than choosing a mode and tweaking from there. Compared with VintageVerb, it has fewer algorithms but lets you blend between neighbouring types, which gives in-between rooms without stacking two reverbs. It is less precise and less realistic than Pro-R 2 or Seventh Heaven, but its vintage character suits retro guitars, drums and pads. The Infinite type stops at about 20 seconds, so it does not reach the endless washes of Supermassive or Blackhole.

What producers say

Reviewers liked its musical, vintage-flavoured sound and quick workflow, with reservations about realism and the limits of the morph.
