What it does
FireSnareVerb is a reverb by FireSonic, sold by United Plugins, made only for snare drums. Instead of a general room or hall, it blends several snare-tuned engines and adds EQ and saturation on the tail to give a snare weight and character fast.
- Six engines: six specialised reverb engines that can be blended together, each with three variations (A, B and C, labelled Meaty, Ringy and Early).
- Variations: four toggles for switching quickly between different reverb flavours.
- Global controls: Length, Predelay and Size.
- EQ: a side high-pass to keep the low end of the reverb narrow, a global high-pass, sweepable Mid and Treble bands and a low-pass filter.
- Enhance: Warmth, an analog-style saturation, and Compression on the reverb.
- Output: a dry/wet dial, a Widening control and a real-time spectrum visualiser.
- Workflow: 64-bit processing at any sample rate, smart bypass with latency compensation and click-free automation, and sleep on silence.
The current version is 1.3. Updates are free for life, and a free 15-day trial runs with no saving or feature limits.

When to use it
FireSnareVerb is the faster choice when the job is simply a good snare reverb. Compared with Valhalla Room or Pro-R 2, it has far fewer ways to build a space, but its engines, EQ, saturation and compression are already aimed at the snare, so you get usable ambience in a few moves. Unlike VintageVerb, it has no plates and halls for vocals or pads; it trades that range for focus. It also costs more than VintageVerb, so it makes most sense if you mix a lot of drums.
- Best for: giving snares size, sustain and character in rock, pop and hip-hop mixes.
- Genres: rock, pop, metal and hip-hop.
- Look elsewhere if: you want one reverb for every source; Valhalla Room or Pro-R 2 are more flexible, and VintageVerb covers classic snare plates and nonlinear drum reverbs too.
What producers say
There is little user feedback yet; the KVR product page shows no user reviews.
- Gearspace thread one user found that "it works equally well on other things" besides the snare.
