What it does
G8 is a gate that goes beyond noise removal into rhythmic and creative effects.
- Modes: a cycle mode for stutter, tremolo and amplitude-modulation effects, and a one-shot mode for transient shaping.
- MIDI: MIDI in and out, so the gate can trigger instruments.
- Side-chain: a four-channel sidechain input with independent filtering, plus lookahead analysis and a wet/dry mix.
- Uses: Unfiltered Audio mentions rhythm patterns, fractal sequencing and polyrhythmic beat slicing.

When to use it
G8 can clean up drums and noisy tracks, but its strength is turning a gate into a rhythmic effect. It is a good fit when a standard gate feels too limited.
- Best for: gated pads and drums, chopped textures, sidechain-triggered rhythms.
- Genres: electronic, hip-hop, experimental.
