What it does
Fault is a pitch and frequency manipulation plugin for creative sound design.
- Processing: artifact-free frequency and pitch modulation, a ring-modulator mode, Mid/Side processing, a built-in soft clipper and anti-aliasing filters.
- Modulation: eight assignable modulators (LFOs, input follower, sample-and-hold, macro control, step sequencer).
- Uses: the developer suggests automatic double tracking for vocals, sub-octave drum processing and extreme sound design.
- Presets: over 100, including work by Richard Devine and The Crystal Method.

When to use it
Fault is aimed at modulated pitch and frequency effects, not natural-sounding correction, so it is not a substitute for Auto-Tune or Melodyne. Use it for wobbling, warping and doubling effects.
