BattleFX is a free multi-effect that takes the Shatter Delay, Headspace Reverb and master Maximize and EQ sections out of Unfiltered Audio's Battalion drum synth.

It adds an automatic choke system for the delay and reverb buffers, with a Euclidean pattern knob, for rhythmic ducking and glitch effects on any track.

What it does

BattleFX was made to answer requests for "a dedicated plugin for the send effects in Battalion," Unfiltered Audio's drum synth. It is the developer's first fully free plugin, released in May 2026.

Shatter Delay: Battalion's granular delay with feedback, glitch control and stereo modes.
Headspace Reverb: a reverb with 10 modes: Dark, Rusty, Saturated, Glitter, Crayon, Bokeh, Flare, Flutter, Hollow and Austere.
Master section: the Maximize and EQ stages from Battalion's master, plus distortion, input/output tilt EQ and sample-rate control.
Auto choke: chokes the delay and reverb buffers at repeating intervals, with a Euclidean pattern knob, tempo-synced or free, set separately for each effect and nudgeable off the beat.
Mix controls: full mix controls with Solo and Mute for each effect.

When to use it

BattleFX is for anyone who wants Battalion's effects on other tracks without the drum synth; Battalion itself includes all of this except the auto-choke system. Compared with Effectrix2 or Stutter Edit 2, it is less about sequenced buffer effects and more about textured delay and reverb; Unfiltered Audio's Sandman Pro goes deeper as a delay.

Best for: textured reverbs and granular delays on drums, synths, guitars and ambient beds, and rhythmic ducking patterns from the choke system.
Genres: electronic, ambient and cinematic sound design, hip-hop and lo-fi.
Look elsewhere if: you want a clean, conventional reverb or delay; the effects here are colored and creative.
Standout: the Euclidean auto-choke on the delay and reverb buffers.
