What it does

VIBE, "The Electric Legend", is UJAM's vintage electric piano, sampled from a hand-picked 1972 instrument with a warm, mellow tone. Like a session player, its Player Mode generates key-aware parts so you don't need piano skills, and you can also play it as a normal keyboard.

Character settings: warm and mellow for jazz, funk and soul, or a brighter bell-like attack and a "barkier" bite for hip-hop, rock and EDM.
Player Mode: 40 styles with variations; set the key and it plays varied phrases and harmonies that fit.
Player controls: Busyness for how much it plays, variation selection and an adjustable player key range.
Instrument Mode: play the electric piano yourself.
Finisher: 45 multi-effect modes tailored to VIBE.
Ambience: 45 ambience presets for space and depth.
Presets and MIDI: more than 150 presets, and MIDI drag and drop of performances into your DAW; all phrases and sounds are royalty-free.

A free, fully working trial is available. It can also be part of UJAM's Select 3, 5 and 10 bundles.

When to use it

VIBE is the pick when you need classic, warm electric piano comping quickly and don't want to play it yourself. Compared with Keyscape and Addictive Keys, it covers only one electric piano and gives less playing detail, but its auto-player writes key-aware soul and jazz parts from held chords. Compared with EZkeys 2, it is a dedicated vintage e-piano with its own effects rather than a broad songwriting tool. Next to UJAM's own GRIT, it is the smoother, mellower choice, while GRIT is the gritty Wurlitzer. It is small on disk.

Best for: warm electric piano comping and chord parts in soul, R&B, jazz, funk and hip-hop.
Genres: R&B, soul, jazz, funk, hip-hop, pop and EDM.
Look elsewhere if: you play keys well and want many electric pianos you can shape in detail; Keyscape or Addictive Keys cover more instruments.
