What it does

CINEDREAM is the ambient member of UJAM's Virtual Guitarist series, built to "create ambient guitar textures for any musical situation." It plays electric guitar phrases from held chords, then turns them into pads, pulses and soundscapes with heavy effects.

Player Mode: hold keys or chords and it performs phrases in time, across 30 styles from fingerpicking to driving rhythms.
Instrument Mode: play single notes yourself and shape the phrasing.
Contour: moves the sound between slow attacks and long sustains.
Dynamics: shapes how notes behave, with fade-in and accent options.
Five amp models: from "clean shimmer to distorted grit."
Stomp Box and Finisher FX: two multi-effect engines: the Stomp Box for tone shaping, and Finisher modes for ambient clouds, drones and motion.

When to use it

CINEDREAM is the pick when you need guitar atmosphere fast and care more about texture than about a part you play note by note. Compared with Heavier7Strings or Trilian, it gives far less playing detail, but it turns a held chord into a finished, effected ambient bed in seconds. Unlike SPARKLE 2, which is aimed at clean and crunchy rhythm parts, its styles and Finisher modes are built for swells, drones and pulses under picture. Its sale price also makes it far cheaper than most deep sampled instruments in this category.

Best for: ambient guitar beds, swells, pulses and soundscapes under film, game and indie tracks.
Genres: ambient, cinematic, indie and atmospheric electronic music.
Look elsewhere if: you need realistic rhythm guitar parts (SPARKLE 2, AMBER 2 or IRON 2) or detailed, playable metal guitar (Heavier7Strings).
Tip: use it mainly for chords and textures rather than melodic lines, and freeze tracks if CPU runs short (Magnetic Magazine).
