What it does

FLUID is a Usynth billed as a "Melodic Techno Workstation": a preset-led synth for the rolling arps, stabs, basses and lush pads of melodic techno, which also fits deep house, techno and score work.

Sound categories: arps, basses, keys, leads, pads, plucks and stabs.
Engine: virtual analog, wavetable, FM and multi-sampler synthesis, with dozens of filter modes, modulation matrices, envelopes and LFOs. You reach it through macro controls rather than editing every parameter.
Macro interface: UJAM's macro controls let you reshape sounds without synth knowledge, while finer controls stay available for patch tweaking.
Sequencer and arpeggiator: an onboard sequencer/arpeggiator built for flowing arps; patterns are picked from keys at the bottom of the interface.
Randomizer: randomizes the whole sound or single sections for quick variations.
Finishers and effects: Finisher creative effects (such as Tube Amp), plus drive, delay and reverb units.
Browser: an intuitive preset browser; the sounds and MIDI phrases are royalty-free.

There is a 7-day trial without limitations.

When to use it

FLUID is the quicker pick when you want melodic techno arps, stabs and pads that move on their own, without building sequences and patches by hand. Compared with Pigments 7, which also mixes several engines with a sequencer, it hides the depth behind macros and costs far less, but you can't design sounds as freely. Compared with Serum 2 or Vital, it gives you finished, moving parts rather than a blank synth.

Best for: melodic techno and deep house arps, stabs, plucks and pads, and quick ideas for score cues.
Genres: melodic techno, deep house, techno and cinematic electronica.
Look elsewhere if: you want to program patches in depth; Pigments 7, Serum 2 or Vital give far more control.
Tip: UJAM's own tutorial rolls off pads below about 300 Hz so they don't crowd the bass, and builds a track from presets plus small macro moves rather than deep edits.
