What it does

CARAMEL is UJAM's "buttery, sweet and warm" Usynth: a wavetable-based synth dedicated to rich pads and dreamy ambient beds. The idea is less time on sound design and more time finishing songs, so each preset exposes a handful of context-sensitive controls rather than a full editor.

Two layers per note: each note plays two individual layers for denser, more complex textures.
Preset controls: the synth section changes per preset; examples include Color, Character and an optional Filter Wobble envelope for plucks, or Sub Octave, Spectral Sweep and Detune.
Sequencer: fully customizable, with gate, octave, dynamics and swing controls; holding chords lets it arpeggiate and add notes beyond the chord.
Finisher: a custom effects section with 90 presets, such as Moonstorm, Old Machine and Shimmer & Swell, each with its own macro controls.
Effects: built-in stereo reverb and stereo delay.
Surprise: random variations with adjustable depth, across the controls and the preset selection.
MIDI control: mod and pitch can be assigned to the controller wheels.

When to use it

CARAMEL is the pick when you need a warm pad under a track quickly and don't want to design it. Compared with Omnisphere 3 or Pigments 7 it has a tiny fraction of the depth and sound range, but it is much cheaper and gets to a usable pad faster. Against Vital or Serum 2 it trades wavetable editing for a few broad macro controls. Among UJAM's own Usynths it is the soft, ambient one, where STRANGER is darker and 2080 is aimed at synthwave.

Best for: lush pads, ambient beds and gentle arpeggiated textures.
Genres: ambient, textural EDM, lo-fi, synth-driven hip-hop and cinematic.
Look elsewhere if: you want evolving, deeply editable pads; Omnisphere 3 or Pigments 7 go much further.
Tip: UJAM's own tutorial suggests open chord voicings, since stacked layers and saturation can turn close voicings muddy.
