The UAD version of SPL's Transient Designer, which shapes the attack and sustain of a sound.
- Controls: just Sustain, Attack and Output Level.
- Uses: soften or punch up percussion, reduce mic bleed, control room ambience.
- Sources: drums, overheads, room mics, piano, acoustic guitar and dialogue.

When to use it
The classic, simple transient shaper: the response is level-independent, so you don't need to set a threshold. It is the UAD version, not the SPL Transient Designer Plus from Brainworx / Plugin Alliance that our list rates. Choose Oxford Envolution instead if you need frequency-dependent control.
