What it does
An emulation of the API 212L Class-A mic preamp, with extras from API's Vision console.
- Unison: on Apollo interfaces it controls the preamp's gain stage and impedance in real time.
- Character: models nonlinear circuit behaviour for punch, clarity and colour.
- Light on DSP: allows many instances across channels.

When to use it
Use it when tracking through an Apollo for that API punch on vocals, guitars, drums and piano, or as a simple colour stage when mixing. Without an Apollo the Unison benefits are lost.
