What it does
Colour Copy is a virtual analog delay modelled on bucket-brigade (BBD) hardware and extended with modern features.
- Delay: BBD-style repeats with smooth pitch modulation, from 1 ms to 1 s.
- Colour and saturation: five "colour" profiles with a saturation control for shaping the tone.
- Modulation: a stereo LFO that can modulate rate, tap position or amplitude.
- Extras: host sync with 25-400% rate scaling, envelope-follower ducking, a freeze button for infinite loops and MIDI note tracking.
- Routing and presets: flexible input/feedback routing with phase invert, 100 factory presets, resizable interface.
The current version is 1.0.2. A demo is available.
When to use it
Colour Copy is a focused analog-style delay: dark, slightly grainy repeats that sit behind a part. It is simpler than u-he's MFM2 and more character-driven than a clean digital delay like Valhalla Delay, and the ducking and freeze controls make it usable beyond vintage-style slapback.
- Best for: guitars, synths, vocals and drums that need warm, modulated echoes, plus freeze-based ambience.
- Genres: dub, indie, synthwave, ambient and pop.
