What it does
Morphit is ToneBoosters' headphone correction plugin. It flattens the frequency response of your headphones so they sound like a neutral studio reference, and it can also do the reverse and make them sound like another model.
- Correction profiles: more than 666 headphone models from brands such as AKG, Audeze, Beyerdynamic, Bose, Sennheiser and Sony, updated often and based on ISO/IEC/ITU-compliant measurements.
- Target curves: Harman around-ear and in-ear targets (2018), a studio reference curve, and generic HiFi, commute and earbud profiles.
- Correction amount: an adjustable amount, so you can apply anything from a light touch to the full correction.
- Simulation mode: makes your headphones sound like any of 600+ other models, to check how a mix plays on consumer headphones and earbuds.
- Speaker virtualization: natural-sounding cross-feed plus a more advanced studio virtualization that imitates listening on loudspeakers.
- Personal EQ and limiter: an integrated equalizer for taste adjustments and a peak limiter with gain control to protect your ears.
- Workflow: resizable UI with dozens of colour themes, undo/redo, A/B switching, preset import and export, and support for sample rates up to 384 kHz.
The current version is 2.1.8 (July 2026). Audio Plugin Guy described the demo as fully functional with no time limit, apart from a nag screen and no preset saving.

When to use it
Morphit is the low-cost pick for correcting and simulating headphones in one plugin. Compared with Sonarworks SoundID Reference, it costs far less but corrects headphones only, with no measurement-based room correction for speakers. Unlike Waves Nx, its focus is a flat frequency response rather than head-tracked 3D speaker emulation, although its cross-feed and virtualization give a more speaker-like image. Its headphone simulation mode is something most correction tools do not offer: you can hear a mix on hundreds of other models without owning them. Use it next to meters like Insight 2 or a reference tool like REFERENCE 3; it fixes what you hear, not what you measure.
- Best for: mixing on headphones in small or untreated rooms, checking translation to consumer headphones and earbuds, and travel setups.
- Genres: any style.
- Look elsewhere if: you also need room correction for your monitors (SoundID Reference covers both), or you want a full virtual mixing room with head tracking (Waves Nx).
- Tip: Audio Plugin Guy suggests the studio reference target for daily mixing, a Harman target to check speaker translation, and keeping the limiter on as a safety net.
What producers say
Users and reviewers see Morphit as an effective, light and very affordable way to mix on headphones; the main reservations concern missing models and how it compares with Sonarworks.
- Audio Plugin Guy scored it 4.8 out of 5 and called it "an absolute must-have if you're mixing on or for headphones", praising the simple setup, the simulation mode and the price. At the time it wished for room simulation.
- KVR users rate it 4.67 out of 5 from 3 reviews, noting that it "works very well" for matching different headphones and has a very low CPU load.
- Tip from KVR users: keep it on the monitoring path and still check final tweaks on reference monitors.
- Criticisms: some headphone models are missing from the database, and some readers questioned its precision against Sonarworks and Realphones.
