What it does
ValveKult 3 is a neural valve saturator that Tone Empire sells as a "British Valve Enhancer". It captures six tube characters, from warm triode harmonics up to a 200-watt amp stack pushed hard.
- Six characters: picked with a Type selector, covering Triode, Pentode and OVD (overdriven) topologies.
- Drive: one large knob that takes the saturation from "polite to furious".
- Mix: blends the saturated and dry signal for parallel processing.
- Trims: input and output level controls.
- Filters: high-pass and low-pass filters around the saturation stage, to keep the drive away from the lows or the top end.
- Neural engine: models trained at 96 kHz with automatic oversampling: 2x at 44.1 and 48 kHz, native processing at higher rates.
- Presets: factory presets from subtle warming to heavy distortion.
A 15-day full-version trial with no feature limits is available.

When to use it
ValveKult 3 is a focused tube saturator with few controls. Compared with Decapitator, it offers only valve styles, with no transistor or tape models and no Punish-style extreme setting, but its OVD and amp-stack characters still reach heavy distortion. Saturn 2 covers far more ground, with multiband processing, many saturation types and modulation; ValveKult 3 is quicker to set up when you only want tube colour. Compared with Klanghelm's IVGI or Softube's Saturation Knob, it gives more distinct tube characters but costs much more.
- Best for: tube warmth and drive on buses, drums, guitars, bass, vocals and synths, including parallel saturation with the Mix knob.
- Genres: general purpose, from subtle mix-bus warmth to rock and electronic grit.
- Look elsewhere if: you want tape, transistor and tube styles in one plugin (Saturn 2 or Decapitator), or a cheap one-knob saturator (Saturation Knob or IVGI).
