SpecCraft is a dynamic resonance suppressor, spectrum compressor and smart EQ that finds harsh or boomy resonances and cuts them frame by frame.
Its self-adaptive spectral compensation adds broad boosts back after the narrow cuts, and it has a zero-latency mode for live use.
Best for: Vocals, Drums, Acoustic Instruments, Mix Bus, Mastering. Genres: all genres.
Keywords: dynamic, low latency, spectral, vocals, zero-latency, full mix, mastering, mixing, sidechain input, simple, wide, acoustic guitar, AI assistant, beginner-friendly, bright, broad-strokes, bus processing, corrective, cymbals, drums, external sidechain, linear-phase, live performance, look-ahead, mid/side, minimum-phase, mix bus, oversampling, room mics, strings, stereo-linked, surgical.
What it does
SpecCraft is Three-Body Technology's resonance tool, pitched as "Cut narrow, boost wide, and on the fly." It detects unwanted resonances on every audio frame, suppresses them dynamically, and can then generate compensation curves so the result does not sound flat or over-compressed.
- Adaptive threshold: a real-time amplitude-based algorithm keeps finding the best threshold, and you can set it anywhere from fully automatic to fully manual.
- Compensation: self-adaptive spectral compensation calculates global EQ boost curves from what was cut, plus Dynamics Compensation, Formant Boost and adjustable Treble Compensation (set to zero it works like a de-esser).
- Shaping the detection: Spectrum Slope tilts the display from 0 to 12 dB/octave, a Priority Curve weights processing by band, and Profiling lets you use a custom curve as the threshold, taken from presets, audio files or captured live.
- Latency options: linear phase by default (2048 samples, about 46 ms at 44.1 kHz) or a Zero Latency Mode with minimum-phase filters, plus adjustable lookahead and 2x/4x/8x oversampling.
- Sidechain: L/R or M/S modes, adjustable stereo linking, external sidechain and an 8-band sidechain EQ based on Kirchhoff-EQ.
A free demo has no time limit but disables saving and inserts 1.5 seconds of silence every 25 minutes.

When to use it
SpecCraft works in the same space as oeksound soothe3, Waves Curves Equator and Baby Audio Smooth Operator Pro. Pick it over those if you want more manual control over where and how much it cuts, compensation that restores body after suppression, or a threshold profile you capture from reference audio. Soothe3 is the more established choice with a more polished interface, and Smooth Operator Pro is simpler to set up.
- Best for: harsh vocals and sibilance, bright overheads and cymbals, strident strings, boomy acoustic guitars and EDM buses.
- Genres: any; it is a general mixing and mastering tool.
- Look elsewhere if: you need fine control of bass resonances (a KVR tester found low-end resolution limited) or a very low-latency setting with high oversampling.
- Standout: the compensation stage, which boosts wide after cutting narrow so the processed sound keeps its energy.
What producers say
Early users found it effective and easy to use in the mids and highs, with some reservations about bass resolution, the adaptive threshold and latency.
- KVR forum (2024): bmanic said after an hour "so far I'm quite impressed" and called the mids-and-highs processing "exceptionally powerful," but noted the bass resolution is "not at all optimal."
- Gripe: the same user felt the adaptive threshold can be "heard pumping in a bad way"; another KVR user reported 48 ms latency at 8x (Slow) and called it "Pretty much unusable" there.
- Audio Plugin Guy (2025): Ashwin Vinayagamoorthy called it "a great alternative to other resonance suppressor plugins," praising its workflow and compensation features while noting it looks less polished than soothe.
