Nylon
by Three-Body Technology · Saturation · Neural transparent overdrive
Not rated yet
A Deep Vintage 'transparent overdrive' with two coloration modes: Yellow adds high-frequency shine and Green adds low-end weight.
It is gentler than typical saturators and is modeled from a hardware circuit with the developer's APNN 2.0 neural network.
Best for: Bass, Drum Bus, Keys & Synths, Mix Bus. Genres: all genres.
Keywords: overdrive, bass, AI/machine learning, bus processing, transparent, bright, colored, drum bus, kick, subtle, polish, undo/redo, A/B compare, aggressive, CPU-light, drums, enhancement, full mix, harmonic enhancer, inspired by, mix bus, mixing, oversampling, piano, single-band, thick.
What it does
Nylon is "inspired by a unique and captivating circuit" and offers two coloration modes. Both are 'Transparent Overdrive' effects that add subtle harmonics, gentler than typical saturators.
- Yellow mode: generates harmonics mainly at high frequencies for a bright, polished shine.
- Green mode: adds saturation mainly at low frequencies to make bass, kick or a drum bus bigger and more aggressive.
- APNN 2.0 modeling: a neural network trained on audio from the original circuit, including its dynamics and low-end behavior.
- Independent harmonics control: harmonic content is adjustable separately from the other tonal traits, so you can keep the tone of a high drive setting with less distortion, or the reverse.
- Extras: up to 8x oversampling, adjustable noise floor, LR/MS processing, mono mode, A/B, undo/redo and GUI scaling.
Like the rest of the Deep Vintage 2.0 series it adds 26 samples of latency (about 0.6 ms at 44.1 kHz). A trial is available (2-second mute each minute, no saving).

When to use it
Nylon suits you if you want a quick, low-CPU choice between high-end sheen and low-end weight with a hardware-derived character. Like Sonnox Oxford Inflator and Sonimus Satson, it adds subtle density, while FabFilter Saturn 2 and Soundtoys Decapitator can go from subtle to heavy with far more control.
- Best for: brightening pianos and buses (Yellow) or thickening bass, kick and drum buses (Green).
- Genres: electronic, pop and rock, or anywhere a light harmonic lift helps.
- Look elsewhere if: you need multiband control or heavy distortion; Saturn 2 is more flexible.
- Standout: two focused modes that color either the top or the bottom of the spectrum.
What producers say
No reviews of Nylon on its own turned up; comments on the current Deep Vintage series are mixed.
- KVR users (2026) one said "TBT DV does sound really nice" with low CPU use; another level-matched the demos and heard differences that were "almost nil."
