A 31-band graphic equalizer built on minimum- or linear-phase FIR filters, so bands do not interact the way IIR graphic EQs do.
It adds a floating parametric bell, a Curve control for the slope between bands, a vintage-console Drive, a spectrum analyzer and mid/side processing.

What it does
Modern G-31 is "a contemporary-style full-featured graphic equalizer plugin" with 31 bands, a high-precision floating parametric bell filter, a real-time analyzer and a Drive model of vintage consoles.
- FIR filters: minimum-phase or linear-phase FIR filtering avoids band interaction, giving clean plateau and stair-step responses; the Curve knob sets the slope between bands.
- Latency: zero in minimum-phase mode and 2,048 samples in linear-phase mode.
- Drive: a switchable console-style harmonic distortion stage.
- Processing: stereo, mid/side and left/right modes, spectrum visualizer and a freely resizable GPU-accelerated interface.
- Limitation: FIR parameters update on a separate thread, so automation is not sample-accurate.

When to use it
Choose Modern G-31 if you like the speed of a graphic EQ but want FIR accuracy without band interaction, plus a floating bell and M/S, at a low price. Like Waves GEQ Graphic Equalizer and Kuassa's Efektor GQ3607, it is a graphic EQ, while FabFilter Pro-Q 4 and Three-Body's own Kirchhoff-EQ are parametric alternatives.
- Best for: fast broad tone shaping and matching on buses, masters, vocals and guitars.
- Genres: any; a general-purpose tool.
- Look elsewhere if: you need sample-accurate automation.
- Standout: linear-phase FIR graphic bands with an adjustable inter-band curve.
