What it does

Amazynth is a sample-based preset instrument for urban music, built around "booming 808s and heavy basses" plus melodic and atmospheric sounds. The developer names producers such as Johnny Juliano, Cardo Got Wings and Zaytoven as its inspiration.

It is delivered as an instant download. No demo is mentioned, only a demo video.

When to use it

Amazynth is a fast, cheap palette of trap sounds rather than a sampler: you pick a preset and tweak the envelope, filter, glide and reverb. Compared with Kontakt 8 or HALion 7 it has no sample editing, mapping or scripting, and you cannot load your own samples. Against SampleTank 4 it is far narrower in scope but aimed squarely at 808s, bells, keys and pads for beats. Next to its sibling Xpectre, it has more presets and more 808 and bell sounds, while Xpectre leans more towards atmospheres and EDM. Omnisphere 3 costs much more but adds real synthesis on top of a much larger library.
