T-Compressor Mk2 is a zero-latency compressor with up to three stages in series, each with its own settings and parallel mix.

It has four characters (Clean, Crisp, Warm, Thick), mid/side mode and oversampling, and costs $59.

Best for: Vocals, Drums, Drum Bus, Bass, Mix Bus. Genres: all genres.

Keywords: low latency, zero-latency, drag-and-drop routing, tracking, vocals, bass, clean, drums, full mix, mid/side, oversampling, parallel processing, bus processing, metering, original design, simple, hybrid topology, auto-gain, bright, dark, drum bus, mix bus, built-in mix knob, mixing, sidechain input, single-band, stereo-linked, tape, transparent, tube, visual feedback.

What it does

T-Compressor Mk2 is a "zero-latency serial and parallel compression toolkit, rebuilt from the ground up." Instead of one compressor working hard, it chains up to three gentler stages in one window, each with its own character and blend.

KVR lists version 2.0.1. A free trial is available.

When to use it

T-Compressor Mk2 is the better pick when you want serial compression set up in one window, at zero latency and a low price. Compared with Pro-C 3 it is simpler and has fewer detection options, but stacking three stages with different characters is built in rather than needing three instances. Unlike CLA-76 or the Teletronix LA-2A Collection, it does not model a specific hardware unit; its four characters are broad colours rather than emulations. Its zero latency also lets it stay on a vocal while tracking.

What producers say

KVR users rate it very highly, mostly for the tone of the characters and the easy serial workflow; the reviews date from 2022 and version 1.
