What it does
LC6n is the 5.1 surround edition of TC Electronic's Loudness Correct. Like the stereo LC2n, it analyzes a file and renders a copy corrected to the loudness target of a chosen delivery platform.
- Surround normalization: corrects 5.1 files to a loudness target in one offline operation, ready for delivery.
- Delivery presets: the Loudness Correct presets cover film, TV and broadcast (including EBU R128 at -23 LUFS), mobile TV, radio, podcast and streaming targets, according to reviews of the series.
- Radar meters: Source and Process Radar Meters show the loudness before and after correction.
- Analyze and Render: a two-pass offline process that runs faster than real time.
- Watch folder: the standalone app automatically batch-normalizes files placed in a watched folder.
The current version is 1.4.0. It launched with a 14-day trial, and KVR does not say whether a trial is still offered. TC Electronic's own product pages currently return a 404 error, so the details here come from KVR and reviews.

When to use it
LC6n does the same job as LC2n for surround work, so it is the one to get when 5.1 mixes must meet broadcast or streaming specs. Compared with meters like NUGEN VisLM, Youlean Loudness Meter 2 or WLM Plus, which report loudness and leave the gain change to you, LC6n writes the corrected file and can process a whole folder unattended. Insight 2 offers far more visual analysis for surround, but no automatic correction. Against that, LC6n is old and stops at 5.1, with no immersive formats.
- Best for: post-production teams delivering many 5.1 mixes, trailers or episodes to broadcast or streaming loudness specs.
- Genres: cinematic, TV and post-production work.
- Look elsewhere if: you only need stereo (LC2n), or work in Atmos or other immersive formats; a meter such as VisLM or Youlean Loudness Meter 2 is the alternative there.
What producers say
Public reviews are scarce and cover the Loudness Correct series as a whole, with the hands-on testing done on the stereo version; they are positive about the workflow.
- Barry Rudolph review reviewed LC2n and LC6n together and praised getting a "finished product immediately ready" for broadcast, film or online delivery; each Analyze and Render pass took about 20 seconds.
- Music Connection covered both versions and noted presets for HDTV, mobile TV, podcast, radio and streaming targets.
- Note: both reviews date from launch; KVR shows no user ratings.
