TBPAClip is a clipper and saturator from TBProAudio with single-band and multiband modes, six clip types and six saturation types.

It adds stochastic clipping, up to 256x oversampling and EBU R128 loudness metering, for €39 (about $44).

What it does

TBPAClip is TBProAudio's clipper with saturation, built to give "extensive and flexible control over the clip process." Signal can pass through an optional saturation stage and then a clip stage, either on the full band or split into three bands.

Single or multiband: single-band runs saturation then clipping on the whole signal; multiband splits it into three bands, each with its own input, saturation, clip and output stages.
Clip types: six clip shapes, including the Pro2 and Exp2 modes added in version 1.3.2, with an advanced mode for detailed shaping of the clip curve.
Dual clip mode: set the positive and negative halves of the waveform separately, for asymmetric clipping.
Saturation: six saturation types placed before the clipper, for colour before the peaks are cut.
Stochastic clipping: injects coloured noise to soften the harsh digital distortion of hard clipping.
Oversampling: up to 256x, with switchable 24 or 48 dB/oct filter slopes.
Metering and monitoring: EBU R128 integrated and momentary-max loudness, delta listening to hear what is removed, and unity gain for level-matched comparison.
Extras: mid/side processing, a DC blocker, gain-staging controls, audio-rate parameter modulation and free GUI scaling.

The current version is 1.3.3 (May 2026). The demo mutes audio briefly every 90 seconds.

When to use it

TBPAClip is the better pick when you want a clipper with lots of shaping control and metering in one plugin. Next to StandardCLIP and KClip 3, its draw is breadth: a three-band mode, six saturation types before the clipper, 256x oversampling and EBU R128 metering in one plugin, at a lower price than most rated clippers. It has many more options than Free Clip 2, which also makes it slower to set up, and far fewer engineers know it and share settings for it than StandardCLIP or KClip 3.

Best for: taming drum and bus peaks, clipping before a limiter in mastering, multiband clipping of dense mixes, and controlled grit from the saturation stage.
Genres: any; clipping is used across modern pop, hip-hop, EDM and rock.
Look elsewhere if: you want a simple, widely used clipper (StandardCLIP or KClip 3), or a free one (Free Clip 2).
