dpMeterXT3 is a loudness meter from TBProAudio that complies with EBU R128-2014, ITU-R BS.1770-4, ATSC A/85 and other regional standards.
It meters up to 10 channels, keeps a loudness history with reports and CSV export, and includes a true peak limiter, for €79 (about $90).

What it does
dpMeterXT3 is TBProAudio's full loudness meter for broadcast, streaming and music delivery. It measures against the main loudness standards and adds history, reports and a true peak limiter; TBProAudio also offers the free dpMeter5 for simpler jobs.
- Standards and targets: EBU R128-2014, ITU-R BS.1770-4 and ATSC A/85, plus presets for TASA, AGCOM 219, ARIB TR-B32, OP-59, K-Meter, podcast, YouTube, iTunes, Spotify, Tidal, Netflix, Pandora, Replay Gain and AES streaming.
- Measurements: integrated, short-term and momentary loudness, true peak, LRA, PLR and PSR.
- Dialog gating: DIAL gating with Off, G8, G10 and Dialog modes.
- Multichannel and weighting: up to 10 channels in several layouts, with K, A, B, C, M and custom weighting filters extended to 100 kHz.
- History and reports: a loudness history graph, reports, CSV export and configurable alerts.
- Fixing levels: loudness matching and a high-quality true peak limiter, so the meter can also correct a file.
- Workflow: records meter readings as DAW automation, with pre-gain, colour options and free GUI scaling.
The current version is 3.1.4 (updated May 2026), and owners of earlier dpMeterXT versions upgrade free. The demo mutes the audio briefly every 90 seconds.

When to use it
dpMeterXT3 is a compliance meter for people who deliver to many different loudness specs. Compared with Youlean Loudness Meter 2 and WLM Plus, it adds multichannel metering up to 10 channels, dialog gating modes and a built-in true peak limiter and loudness matching. It covers much of the same broadcast ground as VisLM and adds a long list of regional and streaming presets, so one meter can check a programme against several targets. It also writes its readings as automation, which makes it easy to find the exact moment a mix went over the limit.
- Best for: broadcast, streaming and post-production deliveries, including surround, and checking dialogue loudness.
- Genres: any; it is a delivery tool.
- Look elsewhere if: you only need stereo metering for music; the free dpMeter5 or Youlean's free version may be enough.
