What it does
TAL-Filter-2 is a free, host-synced filter with volume and panorama modulation, built for rhythmic filtering.
- Filters: taken from TAL-NoiseMaker: low-pass (24, 18, 12 and 6 dB), 12 dB high-pass, 12 dB band-pass and 12 dB notch.
- Modulation editor: a graphical editor with draggable points for beat-synced patterns, with tempo multipliers from x1 to x32.
- Extras: volume modulation for tremolo and gate effects, stereo panning modulation, input saturation and 4x oversampling.
It's free and open source (GPL), current version 3.1.2.

When to use it
A good free pick for drawing your own tempo-synced filter, gate and auto-pan patterns on pads, basses or full loops. It is a step up from a plain static filter, and gives a similar job to paid filter-modulation plugins without the cost.
Look elsewhere if you want a character filter emulating a specific hardware unit.
