What it does
Polaris is an orchestral synthesis instrument created with composer BT. It pairs string orchestra recordings that have been resampled through classic and rare synthesisers.
- Content: 129 articulations (94 string performances and 35 layered synergy patches) and 421 presets.
- Sources: string techniques, hardware synths, granular engines, tape machines and vintage samplers.
- Engine: eDNA synth engine, with a new granular engine for shaping the sound.

When to use it
Polaris sits between a string library and a synth: it gives you strings that already sound synthesised, and lets you keep tweaking. It suits electronic, cinematic, synth-wave and hybrid scoring. Among the rated synths in the database, it is not a general-purpose synth like Serum 2 or Omnisphere; it is built around orchestral source material.
