What it does

Estática is an experimental texture library from cellist and composer Mabe Fratti and sound artist Concepción Huerta, recorded in a live, improvised session in Mexico City. It mixes "unorthodox cello techniques, analog synths and vocal-based pads" with industrial and tape-processed textures.

A user manual is included. Students get a discount. The product page lists no demo.

When to use it

Estática is the pick when you want strange, raw cello and tape textures rather than a playable string section. Compared with Berlin Strings or BBC Symphony Orchestra Core, it has no articulations or ensemble realism; its cello is treated as source material for drones and noise. Compared with Augmented STRINGS, it offers fewer sound-shaping controls and no layered synth engine, but its sounds are more abrasive and personal. It is a cheap way to add an experimental layer, and its fairly dry sound mixes easily with other libraries.

What producers say

Sample Library Review found it a unique, high-value experimental library, with some reservations about note lengths.
