What it does
BT Phobos is a polyconvolution synthesizer developed with the composer BT, which uses convolution to combine sounds with each other.
- Engine: three convolvers that process impulse responses polyphonically and track pitch in real time.
- Library: BT-made rhythms, pulses, textures and atmospheres, with 2,000+ sounds and 650+ presets.
- Controls: ADSR envelopes on the sound sources and convolvers, gate stages, filters and four LFOs, with mappable controllers for automation.
- Also: MPE support.

When to use it
A sound design synth for evolving, rhythmic and cinematic electronic textures, where the sounds come from convolving material rather than from oscillators. It suits electronic, ambient, film and trailer music, and is more experimental than a standard subtractive synth.
