What it does
Abbey Road One: Orchestral Foundations is Spitfire's ensemble orchestra recorded in Studio One at Abbey Road. The players are arranged into ready-made sections, so a full-sounding orchestra can be played from a single keyboard part.
- Orchestra: a 90-piece symphonic orchestra, pre-orchestrated into full orchestra, high and low strings, brass (trumpets, horns, low brass), high and low woodwinds and percussion patches.
- Articulations: 69 in total, which Spitfire says is the most of any of its ensemble libraries, with up to five dynamic layers.
- Mics and mixes: 10 microphone signals, including vintage ribbon mics, plus 2 ready-made mixes.
- Player: Spitfire's own plugin; no Kontakt needed.

When to use it
A quick way to sketch and score full-orchestra parts with a big room sound, without programming each section separately. It sits between Spitfire's Albion libraries, which lean towards a hybrid, cinematic character, and the section-by-section detail of BBC Symphony Orchestra. Suits film, TV and game sketches, and orchestral pop arrangements.
