What it does

FilterFreak is an analog-modelled resonant filter with rhythmic modulation, envelope following and saturation. It comes in one- and two-filter versions (FilterFreak 1 and 2).

Filter modes: highpass, lowpass, bandpass and band-reject, from 2 to 8 poles.
Resonance: can self-oscillate.
Saturation: 7 analog saturation styles.
Modulation: Rhythm mode with MIDI sync and groove controls, envelope follower, ADSR modes and an LFO with editable shapes.
FilterFreak 2: two filters with series or parallel routing.

When to use it

Use it for auto-wah, resonant sweeps, squelchy bass and rhythmic filtering on drums, synths and guitars. It is a performance and sound-design filter more than a corrective one. Suits funk, electronic, hip-hop and dance music.
